Hops, Barley, and Student Debt

We picked up a 6-pack of Flying Dog’s Raging Bitch IPA. It’s a Belgian-style imperial India Pale Ale. The aroma is sweet, malty, and earthy, much more so than you’d expect from an IPA. Being an imperial (8 or 9% abv), it’s got a pretty hefty malt bill, lending a sweetness that counters the hop bitterness and the warmth of the alcohol very nicely. There are the hints of banana and clove that are characteristic of Belgian beers with a really strong hop finish. This is a fantastic beer, and is rapidly becoming one of my favorites.
